Shhhh! A Sneak Peek of One of my NEW TWC Stencils!!

I know many of you have been asking about why they've seen so little of my work on my social media and my Youtube Channel lately.  Well, I've been busily making 8 NEW stencil designs for TCW (The Crafter's Workshop) for their upcoming new releases for the Winter CHA (Craft and Hobby Show).  And along with creating these fun stencils I've also created some projects to show how I would use these stencils.

The stencils will be available by January 15th and will be shown at the Winter CHA (at the TCW booth along with a whole bunch of projects I made using them!)  As always they come in two sizes, 6x6 inches and 12x12 inches.

This is just a little peek....can you tell I've had my mind on mosaics lately?  This project came together quick and easy. As soon as I get the go ahead I will be showing this project in full with lots of close-ups, tips and tricks and of course a full video tutorial on how I made it.

I will have more and more sneak peeks to share with you all as the CHA draws closer but before I leave you all today I just wanted to share one more bit of awesome news!  Did you know that TCW makes their own line of mixed media products now?  I was so very excited to get my hands on these beauties and give them a go....and boy, they did not disappoint!  I've absolutely been loving using them, I've pretty near emptied that thick Modeling Paste, a treat to work with!

I hope my little peek has whet your appetite for more because I've got lots more to share. It felt nice being able to just play again (I love designing products but I love using the products even more!).

Thanks so much to all of you who have shown so much sweet support in your kind comments and in the use of the products I design....nothing gives me more pleasure than to see what others are doing with the products I put out there!  Looking forward to seeing what you lovely creative people out there will be doing with my newest designs!  Sending loads of love to you all! xo

NEW Kit & Video Tutorial {The Scrapbook Diaries}

When Janene sent me these adorable wood chippies I knew I had to make a fun kit out of it using some of my favorite Prills embellishments for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I used a cute photo of a bike for my page but the title and the pretty embellishments can work beautifully on a photo of a special person in your life as well.

Isn't that little wheel-barrow adorable! And it was so quick and easy to make!  In minutes you can make your own unique embellishment with items found in this kit.

I just love the scripty title chippie that comes with this kit too....it adds a pretty touch without taking over the page. The kit also includes the 'Postcards from Paris' stamp set I recently designed for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I thought the scripty writing, the postcards and Cone flowers added a pretty background design for this page, especially when used with the brown chalk ink (also included in the kit).

I have been itching to use this beautiful set of lilac/white blooms from 49 & Market and was happy to get to use them with the fun lavender chippies in this kit.  I added a little double hemp bow to make the corner accent on this page.

....And this adorable lavender wreath!  You're going to have so much fun making this page accent!  As always, I created  a full video tutorial with the kit to which you have unlimited access to, to help you create your own special keepsake.  You can may your page exactly as shown or tweak the page to suite your own style.

You can order your kit today HERE at The Scrapbook Diaries!  As always it includes enough product to make extra bonus pages as well.  The kits are limited in number so be sure to get your's while they are still available.

I know you haven't seen a lot from me lately....but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!  I've got 8 new stencil's I've designed for The Crafter's Workshop that will be coming out in the winter shows....I'll have lots of tutorials for fun projects to make with them, so stay tuned! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate all the lovely comments and feedback! xo

NEW Kit & Video, Time to Scrap Summer Photos! {The Scrapbook Diaries}

Hi my friends!  I know I've been pretty quiet around here the last little while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy being crafty! Shhhh! but I've been designing some more stencils for TCW (The Crafters Workshop)....I think you're going to love them! But for now you have to wait while they go into production.  In the meantime I have this lovely new Kit Page and Video tutorial to share with you that I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries (the video comes with the kit).  We had a super busy summer and took lots of pics, so now it's time to get scrapping them (I hate for them to just sit in a computer file right?)

This kit it packed with beautiful chipboard elements....and don't get me started on the papers!  They were some of my all time favorite papers to work with by Blue Fern!  (I loved them so much, when I finished my page, I contacted Janene and asked if she minded if I made an extra page for this kit because I'm on a roll!)

I did a little fussy cutting on this one, but not too much for those of you who are not into that....just enough to add a nice artistic touch.  I just used a little pair of nail clipper scissors to do this.

Now let's talk embellishments!  So many wonderful things to embellish with in this kit!  Some gorgeous Prima metal accents and beautiful blooms from 49 & Market!  I also used a very cool stencil by Andy Skinner that ended up looking like mermaid scales to me!

....And the paints!!  I'm soooo in love with the paints I used in this kit!  Luminarte H20's in Ancient Coin and Beachouse blue.  They give such a pretty aged patina to the page design. It's hard to see the shimmery effect they give on this flat page but you'll see in the video how beautifully they combine!

And of course I had to add some of my favorite new texture elements to this page....Prills!  I thought the colors I picked would add a nice sandy/beachy element to this page.

As I said earlier, I loved the kit elements so much that I just wanted to keep going so I made an extra page for this kit!  This one came together so quick and easy!  Don't you love it when that happens?

We went camping this summer (something I haven't done for many many years) and we went to a place called The Pinery near Grand Bend Ontario.  So beautiful! I enjoyed scrapping this pic of the beach, brought back so many happy memories as I was working on it! But then that's the point behind all this scrapping right?

Here's another close-up of the embellishments included in this kit....the metal accents make me so happy...

And aren't these wood chippies adorable? I thought they gave a nice 'sea grass' look to the page design (also included in kit)...the little shells, star fish and sea horses are from Dusty Attic (also included in kit).

You can see a bit of the shimmer the paints give on the corrugated cardboard area here.  Here I just randomly painted on the two colors in the kit, letting them overlap here and there....I thought this gave the embellishment a nice sort of aged/rusted look.

Seaside Memories Bonus Page MMK182

And usually I don't overload you guys with all the bonus options of the kits here on my blog but I just had to show you the BONUS pages that Janene Meyerowitz designed to be added to the kit! I absolutely love the two bonus pages she created for this one! (above)

Bonus Page MMK182

This is the second bonus page that Janene Meyerowitz designed for this kit!  I love that she adds bonus pages that allow for more photos as well!

So there you have it! One BIG beautiful kit to scrap those summer photos (or your vacay photos) which also includes unlimited access to a private video tutorial on how to make the top page.  Get yours while they are still available cuz when they run out, they are gone! You can order your's here at The Scrapbook Diaries.  As always, she offers it in Basic and Complete kits so that you all have options.

I hope your summer has been as beautiful as mine has been!  We went wedding dress shopping with my beautiful daughter on the weekend, I think she found the one she loves! So many exciting things happening around here :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate the kind comments and lovely feedback I get from my sweet friends here!

A Gift for a Lovely Lady {Dusty Attic & 49 & Market}

Hi all! Today I have a page I made as a gift for my beautiful friend Jennifer Hedger, owner of Dusty Attic Chipboard.  I've been on her design team for many many years now and have enjoyed being on this team so much.  This is a no stress, wonderful design team, an absolute pleasure to be on.  And this is due in no small part because of this lovely lady at the helm of the company.  She is so genuine and sweet.  It was my pleasure to make this page as a special gift to her.

I used some beautiful papers from 49 & Market....remember the flower fairy papers I used for that layout I did of my daughter when she was a baby?  Well Janene Meyerowitz has designed another lovely collection called Heirloom Botanicals (just LOVE the little mushroom cut out sheet she created) ....So for this page I used some of the Heirloom Botanical papers as well as a sheet of paper from Vintage Artistry (also from 49 & Market).  The blossoms and Prills are all from 49 & Market as well.  And of course all the chipboard is Dusty Attic Designs.

For the mushroom design, I cut out the image from the 6x6 cut out sheet, then I cut out the tops of the mushrooms from another image and attached with foam pop dots to give a 3D effect to my embellishments.

Love this title, cuz it's so true!  I just tinted the DA chipboard piece with green ink and added some Gloss to the word 'life' and 'friends'. The quote is one of my new stamp designs (also available at The Scrapbook Diaries or 49 & Market)

I did a bit of stamping with my new Hibiscus Stamp from The Scrapbook Diaries I used one of the quotes as a central quote and used the other scripted quote as a background design.  I used the floral design as a background image behind the photo area.

As I mentioned all the chipboard is Dusty Attic, for this page I used
~ Small Trellis
~ Mini Branches
~ View Finders
~ Lace Border #4
~ Life is Better with Friends Title chippie

You can order Dusty Attic chipboard directly from the Dusty Attic Website in Australia or there are many retailers in North America that now carry Dusty Attic product, The Scrapbook Diaries has an extensive list of Dusty Attic product.

All the girls on the design team got together and made an album (co-ordinated by the sweet Jen Burns) as a gift from the design team, each page in our own style. Hope she loves it! xo

Love in Summertime {Maja Design and Scrapbook Diaries Kit!} PLUS A GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi Everyone!  I'm back with another video tutorial and Kit for you all!  Maja Design asked me to be their summer guest designer using this gorgeous new collection called 'Summertime'!  As soon as Janene (The Scrapbook Diaries) and I saw this collection, we knew we had to make this into a Kit! So we pulled together lots of the pretty papers along with stamps, gorgeous chippies and wood embellishments and fun mixed media products and as always a video tutorial to show how it all comes together!
....Has your summer been a good one so far?  Ours has been busy and lots of fun!  And I have some big news to share (in case you missed it in my last post)....my oldest daughter got engaged a few weeks ago! It's still hard to absorb that my little girl is so grown up now.  But we are all so happy, he's an awesome guy and they are so very happy together!  Every photo I have of them, you just see they glow with joy, so I thought I would use one of these pics to scrap with this lovely summery paper!

  Summertime-L

I used a variety the Summertime collection papers for my layout...'Light Scarlet' as my matting paper, 'It's Always the Best' as the main background design, 'Flowers Everywhere-bs' for the heart design, 'Smell the Roses' for the matting for the heart and 'Light Scarlet-bs' for the gingham inserts.  I thought I would share a video tutorial with you all on how this page was put together, so get yourself your favorite summer drink (my favorite is strawberry lemonade), take a load off, relax and enjoy!...

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and hope this inspires you to play with this beautiful collection for your own summertime photos.(see below for a GIVEAWAY!)... Here are some close-ups and details of this page that you can enjoy at your leisure.

  closeup1

Since this is a love story, I thought I would use lots of heart images throughout the layout.  I used the 'Circle Stitch Stamp Set' I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries, using the stitched heart stamp on a variety of the Summertime patterned papers and added Prima Mechanicals (hearts) to the centers to create fun and unique little embellishments for the page.

closeup2The flowers are also from 49 and Market, the roses are a floral stem that I cut up and used in various places on the layout, and I used canvas blooms from their Rustic collection to tuck in around the photo area.  For my mixed media product I used two crayons by Faber Castell called Iced Rose and Iced Currant (see video for various ways I used this paint crayon).

  closeup5

The cogs chippie is from ScrapFX, and again the metal heart is by Prima.  (this whole page design, including chipboard, mixed media products, stamp and papers can all be bought as a kit from The Scrapbook Diaries).

  closeup3

Another product I've had a lot of fun with lately is those little colorful pebbles called Prills, here I used Tutu Pink Prills to accent the wooden floral accents from Scrapeniec and to accent my heart designs.

  closeup6

I just love to layer all the pretty paper designs in this collection.  For me, the gingham design on the backside of 'Light Scarlet' paper just speaks of summer.  Here I tucked it in a tear I made in the background paper "Is Always the Best'. Tucking in a little lace and burlap, I think adds a nice rustic look.

I really enjoyed working with these lovely papers and I think you will too! You can also order the same kit in the blue papers from this collection (this gorgeous page was designed by the awesome Janene Meyerowitz using the video tutorial!) You can order your kit from The Scrapbook Diaries HERE For Pink kit!  HERE For Blue Kit! Pretty much all the product you see me using is included in this fun summery kit.

WOULD YOU LIKE A CHANCE TO WIN THIS BEAUTIFUL SUMMERTIME PAPER COLLECTION?? Just leave a comment below (and if you have an Instagram account come follow me, I spend a lot of time there lately! my Instagram name is Gabrielleshutterbug), I will choose a winner on August 31st, it's that easy!

Before I close for today, I have one more project to share with you!  Recently my dear friend Jennifer Hedger (owner of Dusty Attic) held a retreat in Bali and asked that I create a kit for the ladies on this trip!  This is the layout I designed....she was kind enough to make up a special chipboard sheet of all the chipboard I used on this kit and made it available to everyone in North America through The Scrapbook Diaries!  Yep! another kit you can order through The Scrapbook Diaries!  I would have posted this seperately but Janene always thinking ahead, asked that I share it at same time as my Maja Design kit so that everyone that would like both can save on shipping!

I show you how I made these layered acrylic butterflies using my stamp set (also included in this kit)

This kit is just jam packed with awesome stamps, stencils, chipboard, embellishments and premium papers!   NOTE: this kit comes with a written PHOTO tutorial (as this is more conducive to live classes).  If you would like to order this kit you can get it HERE.

I know! A lot to absorb today, LOL!  Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win the Gorgeous Maja Design Summertime collection! (You have until August 31st)

Happy Summer Scrappin'!

NEW Masculine Style Scrapbook Diaries Kit! (and Additional Dusty Attic Page...Kit Available As Well!!)

Hi All!  It's been a crazy busy summer here for me and my family but I did manage to get some good scrapping time in!  I was in the mood to do some masculine style scrapping and the good news is that this is a page kit that you can get at The Scrapbook Diaries!  All materials I used to make this kit including the chipboard, metal accents, stencil and mixed media materials is in this kit along with unlimited access to a private online video tutorial that I created for this kit.

The photo on this page is actually of pic of my son-in-law to be! (above is a pic of the two them)  Last week my oldest daughter got engaged!  Where has time gone??!  The pic is one from a tough mudder he did (obstacle course through mud and all sorts of grueling obstacles...my daughter did one with him a few weeks back)....he was wearing a Bane mask from the Bat Man movie, I thought it would be fun to make a nice grungy looking page to frame this pic!.  I made this page for his mom who took this pic of him, I'm going to frame it and give it as a gift to her.

Back to the kit....as you can see here there are a lot of really fun accents and techniques in this kit page, this is a sneak peek photo I shared on my Instagram account a little while back (my instagram name is Gabrielleshutterbug for those that follow Instagram)

There are some really interesting and unique chipboard pieces in this kit (all included of course) and you'll be able to watch how I create the fun grungy texture I added to the chipboard pieces in the video tutorial that goes with the kit.

As always I love to add fabric and textural elements to a masculine page, here I used some burlap in the torn paper areas, giving a nice grungy look to the page design.

I used a fun new Dusty Attic stencil called Bubbles to create a unique background design using a negative resist technique with a couple of great Faber Castell Gelato colors in Pistachio and Chocolate.  I think you guys are going to love this product....IT DOES NOT WARP YOUR PAPER! This product can be used fairly dryly so you don't end up warping your paper from too much moisture.

I used the Gelato's as well to color some of my chiipboard...this product is cool in the many ways it can be used!

I also added some rolled paper embellishing for an added textural element.  Here is another closeup of the background design and of some of the fun chipboard I used in this kit.....and of course, I had to add some of my lastest obsession....'Prills' (those little metalic copper gravelly bits)...I just love them, they add so much to a page!  These are also included in the kit! As always, Janine breaks up your options for a Basic Kit or a Complete Kit (if you already have certain items you can choose basic kit to save money)  So, ready to pick up your Picture Perfect Kit at the Scrapbook Diaries?  You can find it HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  I always appreciate all the kind words and lovely feedback I get from all of you! Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer (and awesome winter for those of you down under!)
